Subject: NSCSO Weekly Message

Dear colleague

Hopefully you will all have heard from your service leads and the project team last week at your service’s business case briefing. These sessions were well attended and updated you all on where we are with the project. The decision to take BT and Capita forward into a second stage of competitive dialogue was given the go-ahead at Tuesday’s Cabinet Resources Committee meeting and also progressed through the scrutiny committee the following night. The papers for that committee can be read here. To look again at the business case presentation that you saw last week, click here. (sorry, intranet so Mr Mustard can't offer you a link to that)

The briefing sessions sparked plenty of questions from staff about the process and about what it will mean for you when the services are transferred to either BT or Capita. Every single Q&A was recorded from the meetings, and will be posted on the intranet shortly ( Mr Mustard hopes to bring these to you later). They, along with Q&As from previous sessions, will be available on the intranet here.

On the topic of what it will mean for you when services are transferred, we can now inform you of more details on the ‘Meet the Bidder’ days. All the companies bidding for these services have been very keen to meet staff, as have many of you been to meet them. We are now giving you that opportunity with the two bidders coming in for a day each at the end of March. Capita will meet you on 23 and 26 March (isn't that 2 days, not a "day each"?), while you have the opportunity to meet BT representatives on 28 and 30 March. The sessions will be 2 hours long and involve bidder presentations and the opportunity for you to ask questions. More details on the content of the sessions will be shared with you on Friday.

Kind regards

Kari

Subject: Invitation to BT's Meet the Bidder Days

Dear colleague,

As discussed in the NSCSO business case briefings please see the attached invitation to BT's Meet the Bidder Days.

This is a great opportunity for you to meet BT who may be your new employer in 2013. The event is designed for you to ask questions either as part of the presentation or in an informal environment before or after. BT will be bringing employees and managers, many of whom will have TUPE transferred into BT and have therefore been in a similar situation to you.

You will need to book into a session by contacting NSCSO@barnet.gov.uk stating the date and time of the session you wish to attend. You will receive an invitation into your Outlook calendar as confirmation.

Please ensure you do book into a session. It is important that there is enough space for every one of the in-scope staff for NSCSO to have the opportunity to meet their potential new employer. To enable this, those that are not booked into the session will unfortunately need to be turned away.

Please ensure your managers and supervisors are aware of the time and date you are attending to ensure business continuity especially for the customer facing services.

To give yourself a better opportunity to speak to the BT representatives in your service, I would suggest the service split up quite evenly throughout the six sessions to prevent overcrowding at specific stalls.

BT has offered the opportunity for you to send any questions in to the NSCSO@barnet.gov.uk email address prior to the event, please send them by Thursday 22 March.

If you have any queries please contact NSCSO@barnet.gov.uk

Regards

You can't of course meet the ones who got made redundant as they refused to transfer to Croydon, or Bristol or Bangalore or wherever or the ones who had their terms slashed as soon as it was legally allowed.

You will need to book into a session by contacting NSCSO@barnet.gov.uk stating the date and time of the session you wish to attend. You will receive an invitation into your Outlook calendar as confirmation.

Mr Mustard suggests that rather than marking yourself out as a troublemaker and blotting your copybook from the start with BT/Crapita that perhaps you should get together and submit all your questions through a single representative and say they are on behalf of your team.

Yours frugally

Mr Mustard
