Social & PCN club - Monday 12 August at 7pm

Usual place : The Bohemia at North Finchley, the community pub.

Usual time: 7pm till 9pm or so.

Usual chat: about anything at all that you like, in a group or two of you sat quietly in a corner, whatever.

If you have a PCN that you want to ask Mr Mustard about then pop along with all, and I mean all, of your paperwork. You will get a candid assessment of your chances of getting it cancelled.

Yours frugally

Beer o'clock

The second Monday of the month is nearly upon us and so it is time for another social gathering.

Have a beer, a glass of wine, coffee or tea or a soft drink, whatever you like,

hear about the latest news in Freedom of Information from across the land (Mr Mustard's questions are no longer vexatious, could this be in any way related to Barnet Council being on the ICO's naughty step), or,

if you have a parking ticket problem, bring all, and I mean all including the envelopes, of your paperwork along to be scrutinised in fine detail. If that is done the parking ticket probably won't be up to the challenge. If you have had a parking ticket in the Saracens Event day zone then Mr Mustard really does want to meet you. If you have had a parkignt icket issued in really awful circumstances and want to be filmed talking about it then come along of if you can't send an email to mrmustard@zoho.com and Mr Mustard will see if his contacts at the BBC are interested in it. There needs to be a good story though, preferably an ongoing one.

If you just want to soak up the atmosphere of being with eccentric individuals in a good pub and discuss the rights and wrongs of the world, or talk about books, theatre or film, starting a blog, growing vegetables on your allotment or anything else you like, including sex, politics or religion, do please come along.

If you don't have time for dinner at home before coming along, the Bohemia do proper food.

The Antic Bohemia is situated at 762-764 High Rd, Tally Ho, London, N12 9QH which is right across the road from that well known café, Café Buzz.

a good place for breakfast at any time of day.

Until Monday then, 10 June from 7pm until about 9pm as Mr M. has to go then, but you can stay until closing time.

Mr Mustard's social gathering - parking tickets, FOI, beer etc

The second Monday of the month is nearly upon us and so it is time for another social gathering.

If you have a parking ticket problem, bring all, and I mean all including the envelopes, of your paperwork along to be scrutinised in fine detail. If that is done the parking ticket probably won't be up to the challenge. Mr Mustard will be handing out copies of the first version of his Guide to appealing your parking ticket and taking suggestions for what else should be included.

If you just want to soak up the atmosphere of being with eccentric individuals and discuss the rights and wrongs of the world, explain the off-side rule to Mrs Angry (you may be some time) or talk about books, theatre or film, starting a blog or anything you like, do please come along. If you don't have time for dinner at home before coming along, the Bohemia do proper food, Mr Mustard has sampled the crumble - it was great.

The Antic Bohemia is situated at 762-764 High Rd, Tally Ho, London, N12 9QH which is right across the road from that well known café, Café Buzz.

Until Monday then, 13 May at 7pm until about 9pm as Mr M has to go then, but you can stay until closing time.

5 April 2013

Mr Mustard's social club - 15 April 2013 at 7pm but first

Normally Mr Mustard would suggest meeting up on the second Monday. The Audit Committee happens to be meeting on the second Monday in April, i.e. on 8 April at 7pm. Mr Reasonable has written about this forthcoming meeting, here, and it behoves us to go along and support him as he is asking some of his usual curve ball questions as his is a razor sharp intellect beyond the dreams of many councillors (do they dream about the day when One Barnet is fully implemented and life is a bed of roses or are they having nightmares?).

Mr Mustard would be delighted if you would join him at Hendon Town Hall on Monday 8 April at 7pm and then in The Bohemia on Monday 15 April at 7pm.

9 March 2013

FOI, Social & PCN club - 11 March 7pm

Mr Mustard likes beer,
he likes the Antic Bohemia
he likes eccentric socialists (in fact any sort of eccentric)
he likes Barnet's soi-disant exiled Americans (were they thrown out he wonders?)
he likes a cafe owner
he likes FOI
he likes fighting parking tickets
he likes to be sociable

and so he will sit down in the Antic Bohemia on Monday 11 March at 7pm instead of listening to Hugh Rayner charge through the Business & Management Overview & Scrutiny business with more of a concern about keeping to his own timetable than making sure that enough time is devoted to the business to perform effective scrutiny.

Mr Mustard would be delighted if you would join him.

It is quite informal. Mr Mustard has quite a bit of news about FOI for those that want to discuss that and another group may want to discuss the merits of the wine list which is well worth sampling or any of the wide range of beers on offer. (Mr Mustard will get the bus or tube home).

If you have a parking ticket problem, bring your paperwork along to be scrutinised in fine detail. If that is done the parking ticket probably won't be up to the challenge.

If you just want to soak up the atmosphere of being with eccentric individuals and discuss the rights and wrongs of the world, explain the off-side rule to Mrs Angry or talk about books, theatre or film or anything you like, do please come along. If you don't have time for dinner at home before coming along the Bohemia do food, Mr Mustard sampled the crumble last time out - it was great.

Until Monday then.
