How strange. Mr Mustard was told by Barnet Council that there was no market in second-hand parking meters and yet there is. How didn't anyone know? didn't they even bother to look?
Refurbished machines can fetch over £1,000 so one would expect a conservative £250 for each one pensioned off and probably free removal, thus saving the c.£100,000 that was paid out for reomving them, and with 400+ machines to sell, another £100,000 into the council's coffers.
What hope is there that our money will ever be wisely spent or not wasted?
Yours frugally
Mr Mustard
