Mr Mustard has noticed, once again, that when Barnet Council officers are out of the office for any reason that they think it is good enough to make the public wait for an answer to an email. What ever happened to the art of delegation?
Mr Mustard has had no issues ( don't you just love that word "issues" - Mr Mustard has had no problems or run-ins with Mrs Bishop and in fact he does not seem to have written to her before as he had to guess her email address ) but as she is an Assistant Director on £88.986 p.a. she can be named.
His question was easy and so an underling could respond.I wrote to the AD as it is her report to the Budget & performance Overview and Scrutiny committee that I questioned.
The report was not clear. It said "For each additional tonne of material recycled, Barnet receives 50% of the material income, which is approx £33.11 per tonne" and Mr Mustard is unclear if that means Barnet gets £33.11 a tonne or if they get £16.55 a tonne and May Gurney get the same ( despite already being paid to do the job )
Out of Office AutoReply: value of recycling per tonne

Why should a lowly paid employee fall over themselves to serve the public, if senior officers don't set an example?
Does anyone else think that making the public wait ( it could be a day, a week or a fortnight) is acceptable?
Yours frugally
Mr Mustard
